Dr Jack Mann FRCP MBBS BSc (Hons)
Jack Mann is a leading Mohs Micrographic Surgeon, Consultant Dermatologist and skin cancer specialist at the St Johns Institute of Dermatology, Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
Training
Dr Mann studied Medicine at University College London, where in addition to his medical degree he was awarded a first class honours BSc in Human Genetics. He undertook his postgraduate training as a junior doctor at leading hospitals in London, and went on to specialise in dermatology.
After finishing his dermatology training, he completed the prestigious Royal College accredited Fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Laser surgery at the world renowned St John’s Institute of Dermatology, where he now works as a highly respected Consultant Dermatologist and Mohs surgeon.
Dr Mann has high ethical standards and works in partnership with patients to pursue high quality, individually-tailored care. He has received particular praise for “outstanding care and compassion” towards patients.
Research, Teaching and Responsibilities
Dr Mann developed and produced an educational video that has been shown to improve patient knowledge of Mohs micrographic surgery (www.eastkentmohs.co.uk). He has published highly cited scientific articles and has presented his research findings nationally and internationally. He regularly teaches skin surgery and skin cancer to doctors from across the UK.
Other activities
He is currently working on the sequels to his published science fiction novel (Gravity’s Arrow | Fantastic Books Publishing | ISBN: 978-1914060014). He keeps healthy by training in martial arts (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai) and enjoys a good philosophical discussion. Most of all, he loves spending time with his wife and three children.
